Farrow & Ball Wood Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones

This primer for woodwork indoors and outdoors provides a protective and breathable base for use in combination with Exterior Eggshell or Full Gloss. For an optimal finish, the shade of the primer is crucial. 

DEEPER COLOURS

Primers come in four shades: White & Light Tones (light), Mid Tones (medium tones), Red & Warm Tones (red), and Dark Tones (dark). Each primer contains a carefully formulated blend of pigments that creates an initial layer of colour on the wall. Only with the correct primer can our colours achieve their characteristic depth and vibrancy, down to the undertones.

EXCEPTIONAL COVERAGE

Because they are formulated with the same rich pigments and on the proven water-based formula, primers ensure that the paint adheres perfectly to the surface. This creates a soft, even finish – and the paint also achieves its enormous yield and exceptional coverage.

IMPROVED ADHESION AND DURABILITY

Farrow & Ball paints are very economical when applied to the appropriate primer coat. The primer ensures that the paint adheres optimally to the substrate and lasts a long time. The surface remains colour-intensive and beautiful for longer, so you have to repaint less often.

It is recommended to use the appropriate primers whenever you paint with a Farrow & Ball colour. It brings out the colours optimally. In addition, you are on the safe side if you work within the system and only use products from one manufacturer. This avoids any problems that can arise due to incompatibility.

For a perfect paint application, we recommend the following procedure:

• 0.75l covers approx. 9m², 2.5l covers approx. 30m²
• One coat of the Primer & Undercoat in the recommended shade. (You can find the correct primer, for example, on the back of our colour card or on our corresponding product page online.)
• Two coats of your chosen colour.
