Metal Primer & Undercoat for Dark Tones

Specially developed for use with Estate Eggshell, this richly pigmented primer is the essential base for an even and long-lasting color result.

This rust-inhibiting primer for all untreated metal surfaces has been specially developed for use with Exterior Eggshell, Estate Eggshell, Full Gloss, or Dead Flat. This allows for smooth surfaces and perfect color results on railings, radiators, garden furniture, and downpipes.

DEEPER COLORS

Primers are available in four shades: White & Light Tones, Mid Tones, Red & Warm Tones, and Dark Tones. Each primer contains a carefully designed blend of pigments that creates a first layer of color on the wall. Only with the correct primer can our paints achieve their characteristic depth and vibrancy, right down to the undertones.

EXCEPTIONAL COVERAGE

Because they are designed with the same rich pigments and proven water-based formula, primers ensure that the paint bonds perfectly with the surface. This creates a soft, even finish – and the paint also achieves its enormous yield and exceptional coverage.

IMPROVED ADHESION AND DURABILITY

Farrow & Ball paints are very economical when applied to the appropriate primer coat. The primer ensures that the paint adheres optimally to the substrate and lasts a long time. The surface retains its color intensity and beauty for longer, so you have to repaint less often.

Using the Primer

It is recommended to use the appropriate primers whenever you paint with a Farrow & Ball paint. It brings out the colors optimally. In addition, you are on the safe side if you work within the system and only use products from one manufacturer. This avoids any problems that may arise due to incompatibility.

For a perfect paint application, we recommend the following procedure:

• The filling volume of one container is 0.75l and covers approx. 9m²
• Two coats of the Primer & Undercoat in the recommended color. (You can find the right primer, for example, on the back of our color card or on our corresponding product page online.)
• Two coats of your chosen paint.
