SUSTAINABLE DOLLS FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Together with the Suyana Foundation, we have designed three dolls and two cuddly toys. The cute knitted figures are made from the finest baby alpaca wool. They include a sweet bear named Leopold with green dungarees, a clever fox named Felix, and three adorable girls with strong personalities: Lotte, Tilda & Emma - each one unique. MY SNOWFLAKE donates the entire proceeds from these dolls & cuddly toys to the Suyana Foundation. With your purchase, you are directly supporting the women's group in Bolivia. MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT
The women's group Tejidos Carla emerged from a workshop founded years ago in La Paz, Bolivia. Tejidos Carla currently employs over 30 knitters and seamstresses, many of whom were trained by the founder. For the Suyana Foundation, the women of Tejidos Carla produce cuddly toys and dolls with great attention to detail and patience, using simple manual knitting machines or by hand.
The Suyana Foundation ensures ethical production that respects human and environmental rights. The dolls & cuddly toys are entirely handcrafted under good conditions. Suyana employs women through Tejidos Carla under good working conditions and with fair incomes, thereby supporting entire families and ensuring their children's education. In addition, they support the artisans and their families in medical emergencies, arrange eye examinations, and provide glasses when necessary.
The dolls & cuddly toys designed for MY SNOWFLAKE are also handmade with great attention to detail in the workshop of the women's group Tejidos Carla in El Alto. This makes each cuddly toy a unique favorite for your child, accompanying them everywhere and providing comfort and security.
ETHICAL MANUFACTURING & ECOLOGICAL MATERIALS
The dolls & cuddly toys are made from pure baby alpaca wool, a renewable, very ecological natural fiber. Baby alpaca wool has been used for centuries to make infant clothing and accessories due to its incomparable softness, resilience, and durability. It is super soft and light, contains almost no lanolin, and therefore requires no chemical pre-treatment, making it suitable for allergy sufferers. Due to the smooth structure of the fibers, knots hardly form with proper care, and the wool has odor-inhibiting properties.
Careful production in a fair workshop helps preserve traditional skills and techniques passed down from generation to generation.
Through its projects, the Suyana Foundation contributes to an equitable and inclusive society by empowering people affected by poverty to lead sustainable, self-determined, and healthy lives. Among other things, the foundation advocates for women in Bolivia, ensures humane working conditions, and thus helps create better future prospects. Through regular orders at fair prices from the Suyana Foundation, the women receive a regular income. This enables them to support their families and provide their children with an education.
